Winter 2004. The heaters in the venues barely work, the parking lots are all black ice,
and every band on this bill swears they invented “frost‑core.”
This is the official (kind of) archive of the Frostbite Tour 2004.
| Date | City | Venue | Bands | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jan 09, 2004 | Sacramento, CA | Frozen Ember Hall | Cryofox (headliner), Glacier Hymn, Permafrost Choir | Power outage during “Static Requiem” — crowd kept singing in the dark. |
| Jan 10, 2004 | Davis, CA | Icebox Warehouse | Cryofox, Whiteout Static, Aurora Collapse | DIY space. Breath visible inside. Drummer’s cymbals literally frosted over. |
| Jan 16, 2004 | Vacaville, CA | Glacial Mall Atrium | Cryofox, Subzero Halo, Parking Lot Choir | Security shut down the circle pit near the food court. |
| Jan 23, 2004 | Woodland, CA | Old Rink 7 | Cryofox, Glacier Hymn, Whiteout Static | Played on the old ice rink floor. Everyone slipped during the breakdown. |
| Jan 30, 2004 | Oakland, CA | Harbor Freezer | Cryofox, Aurora Collapse, Permafrost Choir, Subzero Halo | “Frostbite Medley” played once, never again. Rumored bootleg exists on a lost CD‑R. |
| Feb 06, 2004 | Reno, NV | Snowblind Theater | Cryofox, Glacier Hymn, Whiteout Static | Band van almost didn’t make it over the pass. Show started at 11:47 PM. |
Frost‑Themed Bands on the Bill
- Cryofox — “frozen‑core / nu‑gaze” from Sacramento. Plays in dropped temperatures only.
- Glacier Hymn — choral intros, blast beats, and field recordings of cracking ice.
- Permafrost Choir — five vocalists, zero guitars, everything run through a freezer pedal.
- Whiteout Static — sounds like a snowstorm eating a TV station.
- Aurora Collapse — shimmering leads, broken delay pedals, and northern‑lights stage lights.
- Subzero Halo — melodic frost‑metal with choir pads and broken space heaters on stage.
- Parking Lot Choir — kids who never got inside the venue, recorded their set on a boombox.
Rumors: an unreleased “Frostbite Tour 2004 Live” DVD was authored, then the master disc cracked in the cold.
